Winners of Startup Turkey Challenge 2019 Announced
This year, 130,000 startups applied to pitch at the 11th Startup Turkey Conference. Out of which 100 startups from 65 countries were selected to be present and pitch at the event. After the first round of pitching, the top ten startups were picked by votes by the audience and the jury. Out of the ten startup finalists, three winners were selected after a second round of pitching.
The top ten startups out of 100 made their presentations to the jury members and the audience. Members of the jury included; former Editor-in-Chief of Entrepreneur Magazine Amy Cosper, Saudi Aramco’s Chief Investment Officer Salman T. Jaffrey, Former 500 Startups Partner Mathew G. Johnson. After the final pitches, the jury members evaluated the presentations and chose three winning startups, which are:
1. Ali Huda from Denmark
Ali Huda is a video on-demand platform for Millions of Muslims parents who struggle to provide wholesome entertainment for their children where Islamic values are not compromised.
2. TemanBisnis from Indonesia
TemanBisnes uses a range of technologies to provide financial management solutions to companies.
3. Wayakit from Mexico
Wayakit gets rid of cloth stains and unpleasant smells for people on the go.
Special Award
One of the finalist startups Dine & Pay received a Special Award from Startup Estonia, Dine & Pay enables customers to pay their restaurant bill securely without waiting for a waiter or attendant.
