The role of intuition in entrepreneurship
In order to build their startups, entrepreneurs face many different and difficult choices and feel the importance of decision making every single day. It is impossible to know if one decision is right or wrong before you see the results from it. The knowledge and understanding of the business world and the belief in the product you offer are great ways to become more confident in your decisions. But there are so many other things which we need to take decisions for and no specific skill set can assure the successful outcome of them.
“The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you, and you don’t know how or why. ”
Albert Einstein
Business is a non-stopping roller coaster and you never know in which direction it will spin you to. You need to learn to follow your intuition because this is the only way to stay true to your vision and most importantly, to yourself.
How can you be sure that the person you chose for your partner will be the perfect fit for your startup? How to hire the best people? Should you fire someone? These questions are very difficult to be answered if entrepreneurs don’t listen to their intuition and trust their gut. The most important business decisions are based on taking risks and what is taking a risk without the confidence which your inner voice is giving you.
If you are not sure how your inner voice sounds, it is time for you to take some time and discover it. Take a moment to clear your head and listen to the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about specific topic. Eliminate the negative thoughts and try to look realistically at the whole picture. Now in this state of mind ask yourself: “What is the best decision?”. The first thing which comes in mind and feels absolutely right even though it may sound absurd is the voice of your inner self.
In business, as in everything else in life, if you stay true to yourself you will succeed, because this is what really matters – to follow your passion and to go towards what you really want. Deep down inside every natural born entrepreneur there is the strong feeling of what is right and what is wrong and sometimes trusting your gut is the best thing you can do.
Entrepreneurs love risks but they always calculate them. Entrepreneurs love action, but always know where the first step is going to be and where the end of the road is. Entrepreneurs follow their dreams but also they have clear idea how to turn it into reality. Intuition plays key role in entrepreneurship and it is important to trust the power of your inner voice.
