Can you imagine a pen enables you to doodle in the air? London-based startup LIX Pen is absolutely doing that. It allows you to write in the air by melting plastic. The pen is about the same size as a regular pen and can be plugged into a regular USB port. You can think LIX pen as a mobile 3D printer. It has the similar function as 3D printers. It melts and cools coloured plastic, letting you create rigid and freestanding structures.
LIX Pen, founded by Ismail Baran and Anton Suvovor, is first launched as a Kickstarter project and passed its goal in just two hours. Founders says that Lix 3D printing pen opens new possibilities to many other industries such as for stylists, architects, designers and anybody who are interested in 3D printing.
The founders also say the new compact design is smaller than any other pen on the market and it can even be powered by the electricity from a USB port.
