What is the most important thing investors would look at?
According to Michael Motto, it is determination, not intelligence! To become a successful entrepreneur, you need to have a good level of determination, but do we really know what determination is?
One of the most important elements of entrepreneurship is determination. Dictionaries says: Determination is simply not giving up. No matter how hard things get, or how badly you want to just give up, you keep on going. Yes, it is! But this is mostly related to self confidence, If you believe yourself, you have the power to fight for success. It is all about to overcome the problems.
Lets look at what Richard Branson says about determination:
”The ability to tap into your determination and grit is not just an innate skill. You can teach yourself to get up every day and try to keep a new business going despite long odds, partly by structuring your life and job to make sure you are working toward your larger goals.”
Being determined starts with changing your thinking, so follow these steps:
- Define success for your self
- Figure out your type of determination
- Set personal goals
- Develop specific strategies
- Set clear boundaries
- Play to your strengths
Michael Motto talked about determination on Startup Turkey 2012. You can watch here:
